WHAT IS FOUR BAR MECHANISM? 

                              The four bar mechanism is used to convert the rotational motion in to reciprocating motion(pump jack) or to convert the reciprocating motion in to rotary motion(bicycles). 

                             The four bar mechanism consists of the for rigid links, which are connected in form of a quadrilateral by 4 pin joints.  The four bar mechanism is used widely in Industry because of its simple mechanization and versatility.

COMPONENTS IN FOUR BAR MECHANISM 

                The four bar mechanism consists of four rigid links, in which one link is fixed whereas wheras the other three links undergoes motion. The four bar mechanism is one of the closed-loop linkage.

The four bar mechanism consits of four links

  • Fixed Link called Frame.
  • Rotating link called Crank.
  • Output link called Rocker arm.
  • Connecting link called Coupler which connects the crank and rocker arm.
